Ornella Underwriting Ltd is part of the Ornella Ltd Group of Companies and was established in 2013 as a Managing General Agent (MGA) who distribute insurance products and solutions on behalf of global, market-leading Insurers from across Europe.

Ornella is an Italian word meaning ‘flowering Ash tree’ and our name and logo represents the on-going strength of our team and our roots in Wexford, Ireland but also Group ambition for growth and development of new and innovative insurance products for our customers in Ireland and across Europe.

Through our own in-house underwriting expertise and professionalism, we provide a safe, secure and compliant platform for Insurers to distribute competitive products into the Irish Market.

We are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as an authorized insurance intermediary but being additionally structured and authorized as an MGA allows us to operate as a ‘virtual Insurer’ for leading European Insurers in the Irish insurance marketplace.

We are also very proud to say that we hold ‘Lloyd’s Coverholder’ status allowing us to provide Irish customers and policyholders with access to some of the innovative insurance solutions offered by the Lloyd’s and wider London Insurance market.
